We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and proactive City Patrol Officer to join our team!
What You Will Do:
As a City Patrol Officer, you will undertake regular patrols and enforce local laws, all while fostering a positive relationship with the community. Your primary focus will be guiding and educating residents and visitors to ensure compliance with QLD Road Rules and the Local Law 12 (Parking). It is about more than just enforcement – it is about making a difference by offering assistance and creating a safe, well-maintained environment for everyone.
This position is required to work on a rotational roster over a 7-day working environment which involves working every second weekend.
What We Are Looking For:
Current “C” class driver’s licence along with the ability to independently drive between all business locations to meet operational needs.
Demonstrated knowledge of local laws or legislation specific to Local Law Enforcement.
Demonstrated previous experience in inspection, investigation and basic report writing in relation to local law infringements.
Knowledge of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 and Regulations or demonstrated ability to acquire same.
Demonstrated ability and physical capacity to undertake a variety of strenuous physical tasks.
High level of communication skills, including excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to relate in a courteous and diplomatic manner, particularly in dispute situations.
Knowledge of the Cairns area and its tourist attractions.
