The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

Manage our vast and high-profile property portfolio worth over $2.1 billion to deliver great outcomes for the community.

Lead our highly skilled and dedicated team of property and facilities professionals managing an extensive and varied portfolio that supports delivery of a diverse range of services.

Lead the delivery of great outcomes for our community, particularly in relation to the management of leases, our workplaces, and building safety, security, and maintenance.

Duties:

  • Implement Council’s annual program of licencing and leasing.
  • Manage the day-to-day complex operations of facilities across the city to ensure they are safe, effective, financially sustainable, and continue to be an asset for our community.
  • Lead Council’s ongoing workplace transformation to ensure that the organisation can deliver on the Council Plan.

Skills and Experience 

  • Tertiary qualifications in business management, property management or another related discipline.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in successfully leading property and / or facilities operations management in a dynamic, complex, infrastructure organisation – preferably one with a public service focus.
  • Extensive knowledge of property management trends, issues, and opportunities particularly those related to service planning, strategic property planning, and sustainability.
  • Good understanding of legislation and regulations that impact on the provision of property and / or facilities management services in local government.
