About the role:

The position is required to undertake a variety of tasks efficiently and to a standard which ensures public safety and protects the natural environment.

The position will involve the following:
  • To ensure plant and associated equipment required for the work is operated in a safe manner, kept secure and maintained in a safe, clean and operable condition.
  • To set out and undertake traffic management when required.
  • To undertake work in a safe manner in accordance with OH&S requirements, Unit’s JSEA and industry practice.
  • To report to the Co-ordinator Infrastructure Maintenance & Supervisor any situation or activity which may give rise to a potential liability for Council.
  • To be available for after-hours emergency works if required.

The working days and hours are Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 3.56pm.

Skills, experience and certificates:

  • Min 4 years of secondary school qualification
     
  • CPR / First Aid
  • Licence to drive heavy rigid vehicle. Heavy Combination desirable
  • Licence to operate front end loader/backhoe.
  • Licence to operate forklift desirable.
  • Experience in asphalt and concrete repairs.
  • Experience in drainage maintenance and repairs.
  • Traffic control licence desirable.
  • Understanding and experience with safely and competently operating mechanical sweepers.
