The Role

The Work Unit is looking for two Leading Hand Asphalters to join the team to help maintain the City of Greater Bendigo.

As our Leading Hand - Asphalter you will be an onsite supervision of the Asphalt team. You will assist in the delivery of asphalt and road maintenance activities ensuring high quality and safety for City employees and the community.

The position includes a 9 day working fortnight (fortnightly RDO) and is based at the City’s Adam Street depot in Golden Square where you will travel out to site to service the City of Greater Bendigo area.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have skills and experience in:

Skills and experience in the supervision of infrastructure maintenance workers.
Ability to work in a team and under direction, with a strong focus on customer service.
Understand the basic Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) principles and practices.
Competently and safely operate a range of plant including, elevated work platforms.

If you hold a current driver’s licence with Medium Rigid (MR) endorsement, skills and experience in leading teams in general road maintenance, asphalt or concrete work or civil construction works, we welcome your application.

A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
