Job Description

The opportunity 

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Aquatic Program Instructor to assist with organizing and conducting swimming lessons and aqua aerobics sessions tailored to the needs of the participants.

The responsibilities of the Aquatic Program Instructor include conducting swimming and aqua aerobics sessions, developing improvement strategies, supervising practice sessions, addressing maintenance issues, and ensuring the safety of all participants at all times.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ability to conduct effective swimming and/or aqua aerobics instruction sessions for participants of a variety of levels
  • Ability to assess skills and progress of program participants and devise an appropriate skill development plan
  • Ability to understand the characteristics of facility users and interact with them in a friendly, caring and respectful manner
  • Ability to provide effective supervision of facility patrons and respond effectively to customer needs, ensuring a safe aquatic environment
  • Ability to effectively educate facility users regarding aquatic safety and facility regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends
  • Pool Lifeguard certificate
  • First Aid certificate
  • Austswim certificate as required
  • Aqua Aerobics Instructor certificate as required
  • Current Working with Children Clearance (Ochre card).
