A great opportunity now exists for a leader to join the team as the People & Change Lead within the City of Greater Dandenong.

The People & Change Lead is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the Manager People and Change, this position is responsible for overseeing various strategic and operational components of the People & Change portfolio. Utilising your deep understanding of Human Resource best practices, processes, and employee relations expertise, you will foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and innovation to champion the Council's long-term values and goals.

About the Role:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A strong understanding of employment legislation, and extensive proven experience in case management and organisational change.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships.
  • A proven track record in delivering impactful business process improvements across core P&C functions and leading people-centric HR services.
  • Extensive project and change management experience in complex, industrial environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and financial acumen, including forecasting and analysis with the ability to drive meaningful improvement initiatives using data.
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities and lead, coach, and develop a team to meet organisational goals.
  • Strategic and operational P&C expertise across the employment lifecycle, with experience delivering best-practice P&C initiatives in an agile and effective manner.

Relevant skills, knowledge and experience should include:

  • Demonstrated success in leading, supporting, and developing a team of Human Resource professionals.
  • Proven high level conflict resolution, negotiation, and problem solving-skills within a multidisciplinary organisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and expert ability to interpret and apply various legislative requirements in a complex and changing work environment.
  • A proven track record in initiating and implementing contemporary, innovative and value adding P&C initiatives and process improvements across the entire employee life cycle.
  • A critical thinker, with an action orientated mindset in delivering P&C outcomes in an agile environment where excellent time management skills facilitate meeting various deadlines.
  • A proven track record in seeking and effectively managing change opportunities within a large organisation

A tertiary qualification in a Human Resource Management or related discipline, along with substantial relevant experience in the field is required.
