Planning Support Officer

  • Salary Range Band 5 - $79,188 - $91,309 plus 11.5% Super
  • Full time 12 month Maternity Leave Position commencing March 2025
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall and with flexible working arrangements possible.

About the Role

As a Planning Support Officer, you will play an integral role in providing administrative and telephone support to the Statutory planning team within City Development. Additionally, you will provide professional advice and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator who is seeking to further advance their skills in administration and customer service.

Duties:

  • Provide high level administrative support to the Statutory Planning Department 
  • Answer and triage counter, telephone and email enquiries 
  • Manage the administration of lodgements of all planning related documentation
  • Maintain electronic files and filing systems

Skills and Experience 

  • General knowledge of the disciplines of Statutory Planning and/or Building and/or council procedures
  • Experience in a service field, or in areas requiring high levels of contact with the public.
  • Demonstrated experience and developed skills in service delivery, administrative processes, and procedures.
  • Experience with a variety of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, Internet applications and data input. Experience with GIS and/or OneCouncil is highly regarded 
  • Experience in monitoring, reviewing, and improving procedures to meet business and service objectives.
