The role
 

As the Safety Project Lead, you will oversee the implementation of safety projects aligned with the safety strategy and strategic vision. Additionally, you will provide project support for safety and wellbeing initiatives across various business units and stakeholder groups.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop modern practices to foster a positive safety culture.
  • Implement actions outlined in the Safety Strategy.
  • Continuously identify improvement areas for safety vision.
  • Research best practices for addressing issues.
  • Cultivate strong relationships for effective communication and initiative implementation.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders for benchmarking and improvement.
  • Promote engagement of organisational users in WHS services.
  • Advocate for a proactive approach to WHS.
  • Tailor WHS reporting for different audiences.
  • Provide support, education, and training for WHS awareness.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes and disseminate information as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Manager Safety and Risk and/or Director People and Performance.

You will have

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS or similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A valid class C drivers’ licence.
  • Demonstrated expertise in WHS, particularly in functional or leadership roles.
  • Proficiency in designing, documenting, implementing, and coordinating Safety Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with interpreting relevant legislation.
  • A proven track record of managing projects or programs involving diverse stakeholders.
  • RTW Coordinator accreditation or Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training (not essential, but desirable)

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $87,786 (Grade G, Step 1) + 11% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
