ABOUT THE ROLE

Council’s Open Space Projects team is seeking a highly motivated project management professional, who is results orientated and with demonstrated experience in driving and delivering the core business objectives of Council’s Annual Capital Works Program, providing high quality infrastructure for its park, sport fields and open spaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a key position in the Project Delivery Unit within Operations and will provide and contribute to:

  • Project managing the delivery of a diverse range of high profile, sophisticated recreation projects, achieving project and program delivery goals by actively coordinating and overseeing the planning, design, procurement and construction.
  • The develop of scope of works, managing design consultants, preparing procurement documentation and technical specifications in accordance with best practice and Local Government legislation and regulation.
  • The management of onsite contractor, whilst carryout contract administration responsibilities as required.
  • Engagement and management of design consultants, coordination of community engagement and the delivery of detail design documentation
  • Provide leadership, guidance, mentoring and coaching to existing Project Managers, Site Inspectors and Graduates to ensuring that fundamental project management experience is delivered at a professional standard of competency.
  • Experience with the application and management of external Grant funding.

Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant. This position also includes Council Leaseback vehicle.
