The Role

Do you have supervisory experience in the maintenance/construction field?

In this varied role, you will undertake a range of tasks, including the inspection, programming, resource and subcontract supervision related to road infrastructure renewal activities, civil construction works and associated activities with particular attention to gravel and sealed road resurfacing.

Some responsibilities include:

• In consultation, develop and monitor the processes for project and programs delivery
• Provide leadership, direction and encouragement to employees and contractors while delivering Capital Works projects and programs
• Monitor the progress of construction projects and programs in both physical and financial performance
• Ensure compliance of all staff and contractors with respect to OH&S legislation, Risk Management requirements, environmental and other policies and procedures.

The position is based at the City’s Depot in Adam Street Golden Square and works closely with other departments at the depot and across the organisation. This is a temporary backfill position, until August 2026.

About You

As the successful candidate you will:

• Be an effective team player
• Have demonstrated supervisory experience in civil construction and maintenance
• Maintain solid working relationships with stakeholders
• Have the ability to plan and execute works within a program and budget.

A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.

A current driver’s licence is required with Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) endorsement being desirable.
