Salary range: $85,906 to $93,915 per annum + 13% superannuation.

About the role

This role supports the City's success by assisting with financial analysis, reporting, and the preparation of the annual Budget Estimates. Additionally, it involves helping other Council staff with financial information and requests, as well as monitoring and reporting on financial matters. 

Role accountabilities include:

  • Aid in annual budget preparation under the guidance of the Business Analyst.
  • Support in the creation of financial reports.
  • Monitor and report on the Council's received grant funding.
  • Oversee and report on the Council's capital budgets, including individual projects.
  • Assist managers in reviewing monthly budget variances.

We're seeking an Assistant Budget Analyst with an Advanced Diploma or higher in Business or a related field. Your experience in the scope is mandatory for the role. Your expertise in accounting practices, financial management systems, Excel, and financial report writing is essential. While experience with Power BI is a bonus, it's not a requirement. Your practical competence, honed over years of experience, should be evident in your ability to prepare accurate financial reports that guide decision-making. Strong customer service skills are crucial, as you'll be interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders. Collaborative and detail-oriented, you thrive in a high-volume work environment, contributing positively to our friendly team dynamic.
