About the role

Here are the Goldfields Oasis, we pride ourselves on delivering a high quality and progressive Learn to Swim program for our Swim School members.

We are seeking multiple Swim Instructors to join our team - and we're hoping that's YOU! Those who are reliable, engaging, highly motivated and a positive attitude will thrive in this role.

To be eligible for this role you must have completed an AustSwim, Royal Life WA, Swim Australia, Australian Swimming Coaches and Teacher Association (ASCTA), Active training or similar accreditation training course and online assessment.

Shifts available range from:

- 3.30 pm-6.30 pm

- 8.15 am – 1:00 pm

We have plenty of hours across the rest of the shifts to work with your schedule. Another benefit of being part of the swim school team is the creche facilities at the center that run alongside our lessons – which can be booked in Centre online while availability lasts.

Duties

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and conduct high quality swimming lessons including updating and modifying teaching techniques as required.
  • Provide information to of students to Senior Officer Swim School/Pool Deck Supervisor regarding student’s progress
  • Maintain the highest standard of safety for the students being taught
  • Correct and/or report any unsafe conditions around pool deck
  • Establish and maintain the highest standards of customer service, public relations and a friendly disposition towards all Centre patrons
  • Work in cooperation with the Senior Officer Swim School and other swim school instructors to continually develop and improve the Oasis Swim School
  • Maintain accurate records of participants and other paperwork as requested
  • Ensure Swim School resources are used, maintained and stored correctly
  • Any other accountabilities and duties as directed by the Senior Officer Swim School and/or the Programs Coordinator.
  • Adhere to the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder policies and procedures.
  • Sufficient notice is given to Senior Officer and Pool Deck Supervisor prior to being absent from a rostered shift.
