About the role

This position is a permanent, part time role in the Community Development and Participation team and based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will plan and participate in the delivery of community development events and activities such as NAIDOC Week, Youth Week, Seniors Week and Children’s Week, providing advice and support where appropriate. Your main duties will include:

• Undertaking community development projects and activities that support Council’s strategic planning priorities and deliver positive outcomes that build resilience and capability in the community.
• Assisting with the coordination of Council’s Aboriginal Advisory Committee and promote and action the activities of the group.
• Identifying, pursuing and implementing funding opportunities and partnerships that support Council’s strategic direction and add value to program provision.

About You

An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic, organised and dedicated individual to join our Community Development and Participation team. The successful candidate will apply their excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive working relationships and networks with community groups. To be successful in this role your application will further demonstrate:

• Qualifications and/or experience in community development, education or events planning.
• Team-player capable of supporting community advisory committees and activities.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines, with experience in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in report preparation, media releases and general correspondence.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $42.07 to $46.18 gross per hour consisting of:

• $37.73 to $41.42 base salary
• $4.34 to $4.76 superannuation (at 11.5%)

Appointment to this position is subject to the following:

• A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.
• A verified clearance as a result of the Working with Children Check.
