ABOUT THE ROLE

Liverpool City Council (Council) is seeking to permanently appoint a suitably qualified, experienced, and skilled Architect or Landscape Architect to the position of Social Infrastructure Planner. The purpose of the position is to forward plan and design a pipeline of social infrastructure projects, including buildings and open space, across the Liverpool LGA.

Key responsibilities of the position include (but are not limited to) the following:

·        Undertaking comprehensive and detailed demographic analysis across the Liverpool LGA, to understand changes to local population and respective user needs.

·        Developing and maintaining; policies, strategies, master plans, concept designs, plans of management, and other documentation relating to open space and community facilities planning.

·        Providing technical advice and input into projects being delivered by other teams within Council, the NSW Government, private developers and/or other organisations.

·        Providing technical assistance to teams managing the execution of projects that have been planned / designed by the Social Infrastructure Planning team.

·        Preparing grant applications, to seek funding for social infrastructure projects.

·        Liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders and the community, as required.

·        Attending and presenting at inter-departmental meetings, governance / community committee meetings, workshops and as part of community consultation activities.

ABOUT YOU

Our desired candidate will possess the following: 

·        University Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning or equivalent tertiary qualifications.

·        Experience in social infrastructure planning projects, including master plans for complex and significant sites.

·        Attention to detail and a desire to deliver work to a high standard.

·        Understanding of legislation and industry standards relevant to social infrastructure planning.

·        Skills in project management, with the ability to successfully manage a complex and dynamic workload.

·        High level communication and stakeholder management skills.

·        A high level of written and verbal communication skills.

·        Confidence in liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated, practical, outcome-focused, have good stakeholder management skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage a complex and dynamic workload. You will also need to have good written, verbal, and graphic communication skills, including proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud software packages (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).

The salary (within the above-mentioned range) will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
