About the Role

We currently have vacancy within our Community Services team for an experienced Community Projects Officer in Ageing & Disability on a part time basis.  You will be responsible for enhancing Council's service provision, working in partnership with the community, non-government organisations and Government to meet local needs as identified and prioritised by Council.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate their competency for the position by meeting the following essential criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, social sciences, community development or community welfare and relevant professional experience
  • Class C Drivers Licence and Current Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the importance of inclusion and access for people with disability and people who are ageing in all aspects of community life
  • Demonstrated experience in strengths-based community development, social justice philosophy and practice, with a high-level understanding of current needs and issues of people who are ageing and or living with disability
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in community project facilitation, management, monitoring and evaluation
