About the position

The Community Connector Coordinator will lead a government project delivered by Muswellbrook Shire Council from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2026 across Upper Hunter Shire, Singleton and Muswellbrook Shire Council areas.

The position is responsible for the development and delivery of the program, monitoring and reporting, managing a small team and stakeholder expectations. This position will also be responsible for establishing the Memorandum of Understanding for the relationship with the surrounding Councils. The position will work closely with service delivery locations and other government departments including Health, Education, Department of Communities and Justice, and Emergency Services as well as community stakeholders on behalf of council.

About you

  • Bachelor Communications or similar, combined with minimum of 5 years experience in a similar customer facing role relevant to the requirements of the position;
  • Significant experience in delivering project management and casework.
  • Ability to design, implement and evaluate initiatives in a creative way.
  • Demonstrated exceptional oral and written communication skills and ability to connect with people from all parts of the community and with various levels of government;
  • Ability to work autonomously to ensure the program is delivered to meet the government program goals and objectives.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement ability to network with local services, attractions and groups.
  • A current NSW Drivers License and flexibility to work weekends and afterhours as required.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or capability to deliver the Job Specific Key Accountabilities (outlined in position description).
  • Demonstrated Developed key capabilities as defined in the Key Capabilities Table (outlined in position description).

Special Conditions: This position will require attendance for out of hours requests to meet program demands and to deliver on program objectives when agreed between all parties and as directed by the Director – Community & Economy. This may include business and community networking events, and the facilitation of community-building activities. This will be remunerated accordingly.

  • Temporary Full Time (35 hours per week), Term Contract up until 30 July 2026
  • Salary from $109,293 to $122,621 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation
