About the role

The Coordinator Risk, Performance and Compliance is a new role at the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. This vacancy presents an existing opportunity for someone with business analysis, risk management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and/or business improvement experience who is looking for a challenging new job, exposure to a dynamic workplace and career development.

You will work with the Executive Manager Governance and Risk Services to deliver organisational projects including performance audit projects, risk management activities, compliance oversight, business improvement initiatives and development of organisational frameworks and policies. Your role will require you to build relationships with officers across the organisation to assist in identification of areas for improvement, break down of organisational silos and undertake sound change management strategies throughout all aspects of your work.

We are seeking someone who is organised, efficient, able to manage their own workload, take initiative and be an energetic member of our close-knit team in the Office of the CEO. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise and multi-task in a high volume and deadline-driven environment while delivering work on time, to a high standard and with attention to detail. You will be able to think critically, problem solve and strategise on both localised and organisational levels. Local government experience will be highly regarded but is not required.

Duties

Key responsibilities include:

  • Development of Internal Performance Audit Framework within four months of commencement.
  • Development and implementation of schedule and agenda for business unit meetings regarding risk and compliance.
  • Development of key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track and evaluate the effectiveness of service and project delivery.
