Visitor Experience Officer

About the role:

Council’s Tourism and Economic Development unit is seeking an application from an enthusiastic, experienced and suitably qualified person to join our team as Visitor Experience Officer.

This role is a permanent part time (4 days per week) ongoing position based in Wedderburn at the Loddon Visitor Information Centre.

The key objectives of this position are to:

· Enhance the visitor experience in the Loddon Shire

· Market the destination and visitor brand

· Provide stewardship services to tourism industry operators and stakeholders

· Support event delivery for maximum benefit for visitors, participants, business and community

Band 5 salary range $74,687 - $85,927 (0.8 pro-rata) per annum plus employer superannuation.

About you:

The successful candidate will have:

· a qualification or near qualification in Tourism, Marketing or Business Management or experience in the Tourism Industry

· experience in the use of office computer systems with a focus on development of websites, databases, electronic newsletters and information systems

· experience working with community and business groups and managing stakeholder relationships

· experience in social media content creation and marketing as well as other digital platforms

· ability to work as part of a multifunctional team and on an autonomous basis

· sound written and verbal communication skills
