About the Role
Based at any of our major regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Miles/Tara or Wandoan), you will be involved in all aspects of Environmental Health including food safety management, complaint resolution, public health initiatives and environmental protection.
- Take a strategic approach to compliance matters, by dealing with both routine and reactive compliance activities;
- Conduct inspections on food premises and provide training on food hygiene to the public;
- Ensure infection control compliance for personal appearance services, for example tattooists & body piercing;
- Ensure compliance with environmental authorities including plastic product manufacturing and metal recovery, as well as environmental compliance, including noise, dust, and odour complaints;
- Local laws administration to protect the amenity, and wellbeing of our communities, including management of overgrown allotments, public place events, advertising devices; and
- Be dedicated to improving our engagement with our customers
About you
The successful applicant will have:
- A relevant Degree / Post-Graduate Certificate / Diploma in Environmental Health or demonstrated experience and suitable qualifications as recognised by Environmental Health Australia;
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret legislation and liaise with the public; and
- Excellent organisational skills and will enjoy working in a diverse, complex environment.
