Irrigation Technician – Full-time

Council is seeking applications from motivated, suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill this important role within the Open Space & Recreation team.

The position, under the direction of the Open Space & Recreation Supervisor, is responsible for the repair, maintenance and servicing of Council’s irrigation systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• The applicant will have a Trade Certificate in Plumbing or Certification 2 in Urban Irrigation or Horticulture or at least 4 years' demonstrated related experience and hold a current MR Licence.
• The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge in the operation of irrigation controllers and irrigation systems and demonstrated ability with technology applications.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as a team member is also essential.

Salary & Conditions

• The position is Grade 7 in Council’s salary system (from $1,166.90 to $1,300.40 per week plus allowances and 11.5% superannuation).
• Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award.
• The position involves working to a roster averaging 38 hours per week. Weekday, weekend and on-call work is a requirement of this position.
• The equivalent of a fortnightly RDO is available.
• Prior to commencement, the successful applicant will be required to undergo a ‘Functional Assessment’ including a ‘Drug & Alcohol’ screening.
