Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding career in the civil construction and maintenance team? The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder is seeking four Plant Operator General Hand to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

As a Plant Operator General Hand, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair of various plant and machinery, while assisting with civil works projects throughout the city. You will be responsible for operating machinery, maintaining equipment, and performing general civil hand duties that help ensure the City’s infrastructure remains in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the department in achieving its required goals and obligations on its civil construction and maintenance projects and other Programs as required.
• Safe and effective operation of all plant, machinery and equipment associated with this position.
• Carry out general labouring duties as and when required on the City’s civil construction and maintenance projects and other Programs as required.
• Assist with the City’s traffic management and traffic control as and when required.
• Other accountabilities as directed by the Supervisor Civil Maintenance and Construction or Coordinator Civil Maintenance and Fleet.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in plant operation, preferably within the civil construction or maintenance sector.
• Skid steer, loader and grader operators highly sought
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role and in various weather conditions.
• A valid driver’s license (HR or higher is advantageous).
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the organisation.
