About the role

This is an opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person who enjoys working with children aged between 5-12 years. The position is permanent part-time and is based at the Narooma Out of School Hours (OOSH) Centre at Narooma Public School.

Your main duties will include:

  • Plan recreational activities to encourage development of new skills and support social learning.
  • Assist with menu planning and preparation and service of food.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service and information about the services provided to the families of children at the Centre.
  • Provide a happy, safe and healthy environment within National Education and Care Regulations and Standards.
  • Take on supervisory responsibilities, as rostered.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range of $35.33 to $38.37 gross per hour consisting of:

  • $31.69 to $34.41 base salary
  • $3.64 to $3.96 superannuation (at 11.5%)

Appointment to this position is subject to the following:

  • A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.
  • Medical clearance to verify that you are safely able to undertake the duties of the position.
  • A verified clearance as a result of the Working with Children Check.

About you

As an OOSH Educator you will be part of a team responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, healthy and caring environment, fostering the children’s developmental and educational potential. Your application should further demonstrate:

  • An interest and enjoyment in working with children.
  • Understand the social and recreational needs of 5–12-year-old children.
  • Ability to step up to a supervisory role demonstrating team leadership skills, initiative, and experience in planning daily activities.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate confidently with the children and their families.
  • You must be over the age of 18.
