About the role

This position is a fixed term, full time role in the People and Safety team and based at the Moruya Administration Office. You will contribute to the development, maintenance and implementation of the WHS framework and strategy and Return to Work Program at Council.

Your main duties will include:

  • Support in providing professional advice and guidance to the Leadership Team in relation to Workers Compensation matters.
  • Assist in providing professional advice, guidance and assistance to all levels of staff with regard to injury management and WHS.
  • Oversee and participate in WHS and injury management projects to ensure compliance with the Council’s WHS Management System and Return to Work Program.
  • Support in the development and review of policies, procedures and associated documentation, to ensure compliance with WHS and workers compensation legislation.

Salary information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $91,853.58 to $100,809.69 gross per annum comprising:

  • $82,379.89 to $90,412.28 base salary
  • $9,473.69 to $10,397.41 superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)

About you

Do you have qualifications and experience in Allied Health and/or Safety, combined with exceptional influencing and leadership qualities? We want to hear from you! Your proven background in management of workers compensation, Return to Work and WHS issues, along with knowledge of current legislation will be essential in this role.

You will be a high achiever with a can-do attitude and demonstrate the following:

  • High level written and oral communication skills.
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyse, interpret and disseminate information to all levels of the organisation.
