About the opportunity
Blacktown City Council is experiencing a time of significant growth. This growth has led to an expansion of service delivery over recent years, that has previously been led by a very small legal team, supported to a high degree, by external law firms. Our legal section is poised for expansion with a restructure under way, that will better support the needs of Council and provide savings. Integral to the new structure, we are seeking to employ a suitably qualified individual to fill an exciting role that will be the key support to operations for the legal team.
This permanent, part-time position is akin to a private legal office manager role and will be responsible for coordinating core processes (e.g. matter triage) and court appearances to assist the lawyers, be the SME for legal matter systems, support the Executive Corporate Counsel to build new legal governance processes and policies, manage the precedent library, billing, and build reports, amongst other duties.
