About the role
As the City’s Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing a high standard of health surveillance, advice and services
- Liaising with City staff, industry personnel, community groups, schools, businesses, local, state and federal government departments and the public to ensure the delivery of the City’s environmental health services
- Assisting with the development and implementation of health promotion and education campaigns
- Preparing, reviewing and maintaining local laws, policies, plans and procedures
- Performing inspections and investigations and actioning matters as necessary
Do you have:
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Health or other relevant qualification
- Knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and Local Laws
- High level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to resolve conflict and negotiate
- Experience in enforcement, compliance, and education programs
- Ability to provide specialist advice and apply knowledge of procedures and policies
- We are looking for a true team player who can work autonomously with initiative, solve problems, and always display professionalism.
- Special requirements
- Our successful candidate will need to have to have a current satisfactory National Police Screening, a current ‘C’ class drivers licence, and the right to work in Australia.
