• Part Time Permanent Position - 25 hours per week, school term only
  • Band 5 - Salary Range $44,297 - $51,009 per annum + 11.5% Super (please note, this salary will be paid fortnightly over 52 weeks)
  • Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience

The Opportunity

The Early Years Partnership team is looking for a skilled professional to engage and support families experiencing disadvantage to develop parenting skills and confidence to improve the learning, development and wellbeing outcomes for children through supported playgroups and In-Home Support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supported playgroups in accordance with Department of Families, Fairness and Housing Supported Playgroups guidelines incorporating the smalltalk program and in-home support.
  • Engage and support families to develop skills and confidence in parenting, using the smalltalk resources, role modelling and other evidence-based approaches and to build connections and support networks in the community.
  • Develop and maintain networks with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

About you
 

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Diploma level qualification in and experience in early childhood, community development services, education, health welfare, social work or related field.
  • Experience working with families with young children, including those who are experiencing disadvantage, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and/or from a Refugee and Asylum Seeker background being an advantage.
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of strategies to engage families and provide support in a variety of setting including in-home support and through the attendance of supported playgroups.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues and situations as they arise.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and Victorian Drivers Licence
