We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sustainability Project Officer to play a key role in implementing sustainability initiatives, engaging with the community, and supporting Council's commitment to environmental stewardship. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a deep understanding of sustainability issues to make a real difference in local government and the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead and coordinate the delivery of sustainability projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and operational requirements are met.
• Communications & Engagement: Develop high-quality communications materials to promote sustainability initiatives, and deliver public education and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Organise and deliver community meetings, workshops, and events to promote sustainability and climate action. Manage relationships with contractors, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
• Research & Reporting: Conduct relevant research on sustainability and climate change issues, and prepare financial, environmental, and evaluative reports.
• Grant Management: Oversee internal grant programs, contribute to external grant applications, and manage the reporting process in line with Council requirements.
• Administrative Duties: Process invoices, maintain accurate project records, and ensure compliance with Council’s procurement policies and administrative procedures.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of business processes, systems, and sustainability practices within the unit.

Qualifications:

• Current C Class Driver’s License to independently drive between locations to meet operational needs.
• Level 3 - Certificate IV in Sustainability and Environmental Management, Conservation Land Management, Community Services, Event Management, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
• Level 4 - Diploma or tertiary qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Climate Change, Natural Resource Management, Community Development, or a related field.
