The Opportunity
Council is now taking expressions of interest for our 2025 Trainee and Apprenticeship programs!
These roles offer the ideal pathway for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience, build valuable skills, and earn a nationally recognised qualification.
Programs will vary from 1 to 4 years based on the course, there is no guarantee of employment beyond this period, however, Council believes in growing our own and will make every effort to offer ongoing employment.
These opportunities are part of a Government supported initiative, and eligibility for this funding is a requirement for appointment.

General Salary Information
Wages and Conditions of employment will be determined in accordance with the Order – Apprentices’ and Trainees’ Wages and Conditions (Excluding Certain Queensland Government Entities) 2003; Training Wage Award – State 2012; Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C) Award – State 2017 and Council’s Certified Agreement 2023.
Pre-employment Screening
Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
