About the role

The Administration and Accounts Officer plays a key role in supporting the effective operation of Council's Laycock Street Community Theatre undertaking day to day administration and accounts duties, managing stationary, food and beverage stock requirements, and providing excellent service and support to our clients. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Gathering information to reconcile financial/ticket sales data relating to events or shows to build detailed financial summaries for clients;
  • Building strong internal relationships with Council's debtors/accounts payable teams to manage end to end payment balancing for tickets sales post performances; 
  • Managing stock for the bar and kiosk, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained, as well as managing the point of sale system (LightSpeed);
  • Providing a range of administrative support to ensure the smooth processing of performances and a high level of client satisfaction.

About You:

  • You ideally you hold a Certificate III in Business;
  • You can demonstrate sound experience in a similar role with varied administration, accounts and general bookkeeping duties;
  • You are capable of working independently, prioritising your workload and managing your time to deliver high quality outputs within given time constraints;
  • Providing a great customer experience is important to you, and your positive nature ensures that you can build strong connections with internal teams, as well as clients;   
  • You are technically savvy with sound experience across the Microsoft suite, accounting/bookkeeping software and point of sale systems (knowledge of ticketing systems would be advantageous);
  • Having a work/life balance is important to you.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges between $38.2K - $45.8K plus 11.5% superannuation
  • This is a Temporary part-time role until August 2025. 
  • This role is located at the Laycock Street Community Theatre. 

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
