This a fantastic opportunity for a student/graduate Civil Engineer to join our Asset Management team. We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and work alongside a diverse team of asset and drainage engineers, on all aspects of Council's Asset Management Strategy.

About the team:

The Delivery and Assets team comprises three business units as follows:

  • Asset Management: Maintaining and updating infrastructure asset register, preparing Council’s asset management policy, strategy and plans, developing Capital Works Program, reviewing and providing specialist technical engineering advice on infrastructure asset issues to stakeholders.
  • Capital Works: Delivering the Capital Works Program including roads, footpaths, shared trails, drainage network, buildings and bridges.
  • Building Maintenance: Maintaining of all Council owned Buildings.

What you'll do:

The object of the role is to support and learn from the Asset Management team. With ongoing support and guidance, you will:

  • Assist the Asset Management team in maintaining the infrastructure asset register, organising condition audits, preparing renewal works program and managing customer requests
  • Provide support to other units/departments and residents/customers with advice in relation to Asset renewal and maintenance issues.
  • Gain work experience in the field of Asset Management and Civil Engineering.

About you:

We are looking for someone who places a strong emphasis on customer service, teamwork, attention to detail and time management.

This position would suit someone currently undertaking their final year of tertiary studies or someone who has recently graduated. Previous experience in a role that taught you excellent interpersonal communication skills, data analysis, and attention to detail will be highly regarded. Alongside a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences.

What we are looking for/what you'll bring:

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree in the field of civil engineering or studying towards the same and nearing completion.
  • Understanding of asset management, infrastructure maintenance activities and engineering principals.
  • Ability to deliver successful outcomes in a set time frame.
  • A commitment to customer service.
  • Experience in the use of computer software such as GIS, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, document management system and customer request management system.

  • Salary range $71,285.28 to $75,523.62 per annum plus super
