The role:

The Coordinator Civil Contracts position manages the operational contract management of key contracts for the Civil Maintenance Team as detailed below:

  • Footpath Maintenance Contract for approximately 1200km's of footpath network
  • Kerbing Maintenance Contract for approximately 1900km of kerb
  • Linemarking Maintenance Contract for 850km's of road network

Contract management will be undertaken in accordance with agreed levels of service whilst also ensuring contracts are managed in accordance with council's contract management framework, safe systems of works, and budgets.

Specialist Skills, Required Knowledge and Conditions:

  • Current SA Drivers Licence
  • Tertiary civil engineering qualifications or substantial experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical knowledge and competency in Footpath, Kerbing and Linemarking maintenance service delivery
  • Ability to interpret plans and specifications
  • High level interpersonal and public relations skills
  • High level communication skills - verbal, report writing, presentations
  • High level of computer literacy, with competency in Microsoft applications and the ability to learn and use in-house systems
  • Experience in the supervision / contract management of civil service contracts
  • Knowledge of budgets and budgeting processes
  • Good understanding of Australian Standards relating to areas of civil infrastructure
  • Ability to plan and program work delivery schedules
  • Ability to use initiative in dealing with unforeseen circumstances

Who you are:

The ideal candidate will be have previous experience in the management of Civil Maintenance Contracts within a local government setting. In addition, the candidate will be well organised, demonstrate high levels of motivation and enthusiasm, a strong commitment to safe work practices, good communicator, experience in managing budgets, providing project status reports, be a team player and have good problem-solving abilities.
