Role Overview

Gympie Regional Council has a fulltime fixed term position for approx 3 years. This position exists to implement the new organisational framework in collaboration with the discourse group and the Chief Executive Officer. To build the capacity of the organisation based on the rhythms of consultation, action, reaction and orientation, reorientation, and learning.

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

  • Tertiary qualification or active enrolment in Business Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in continuous improvement, business planning and project management functions.
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, including high level ability to negotiate and consult on complex matters at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to problem solve at advanced level within organisational context.
  • Queensland ‘C’ Class driver’s licence or above that is current and maintained.

Essential Requirements:

  • Building on the framework developed by the Discourse Group, design and implement organisational wide system that is based on listening to all teams and utilising methodology as directed by the CEO.
  • Lead change management initiatives and programs as directed by the CEO.
  • Liaise closely with the internal communications role to achieve the communications aspects of the new framework.
  • Aspects of the new framework to include the vision and all principles (including consultation, learning from feedback and systems) of the discourse group as well as building capacity and capability to address the needs identified by the organisation
  • Facilitate a cross organisational group that assists in the above process across, up and down and with progressive depth.
  • Address at a fundamental level the cultural survey matters that relate to the organisational systems.
  • Develop cycles for consultation, action, learning from feedback, orientation and reorientation.
  • Coordinate and promote Council’s continuous improvement program including the planning and scoping of projects, assessment of project recommendations, implementation planning, and reporting on the delivery of project recommendations adopted by the Executive.
  • Coordinate Council’s business planning program, including process, productivity, and performance related reviews within the parameters of council’s continuous improvement and business planning principles.
  • Build capability across Council for service-based thinking and alignment.
  • Effectively support and develop teams across the organisation as per an annual work program approved by the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Oversee corporate plan and business planning, as delegated.
