The Role

Our Economy & Experience unit plays a lead role in ensuring Bendigo is a great place to live, work, visit and invest.

In this new role as our Destination Development Lead, you will lead the design and implementation of key regional initiatives with the aim to increase industry capacity, visitation and to grow the region’s tourism economy. You will also provide strategic leadership to maximise the benefits of the Gastronomy and proposed World Heritage UNESCO designations.

You will manage the delivery of key projects in line with Bendigo Region’s Destination Management Plan and other relevant tourism strategies to grow the region’s visitor economy.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for promoting the Greater Bendigo region as a great place to visit, have strong leadership experience,  excellent knowledge of regional development and the visitor economy, experience in designing and delivering projects and programs to achieve economic outcomes, the ability to maintain strategic relationships together with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Relevant qualifications in tourism, economic development or business and satisfactory police records check are required for this position.
