The role

Are you a passionate about improving the user experience of digital channels and encouraging online participation in your local community? Our Communication, Engagement and Marketing team would love to hear from you! Help us bring Council vision and activity to life across the digital landscape as our new Digital Engagement Officer.

You will be part of a team that has a focus on the development and management of Council’s websites and digital channels.  Your knowledge and experience in website development, content management systems and  user experience optimisation is needed. Attention to detail and the ability to create and edit content to meet our community’s needs will help to deliver communication that is relevant and engaging, and contribute to an improved user experience of our digital platforms.

What you'll bring 

  • Degree level qualifications in communications, digital engagement, marketing, public relations or related discipline or significant relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in website development, design, content curation and maintenance through a content management system in a large organisation.
  • Experience in digital content creation using publishing software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to use digital media platforms, including social media, CMS, and Electronic Direct Mail platforms for the purpose of delivering effective engagement and communication objectives.

Salary: Commencing salary circa $83,460 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
