About the role

The Director Infrastructure Services reports to the CEO and forms an integral part of the Executive Team. This position will be based in Portland, Victoria.

We are seeking a strategic minded leader who will empower and support staff, providing authority and latitude to accomplish tasks to a high standard. With strong communication and relationship skills, you are open and responsive to change, capable of adapting and leading your team to successful outcomes. 

Portfolio and responsibilities; executive level leadership of the Infrastructure Services division, encompassing;

  • Project & Engineering (Asset Management and Maintenance, and Engineering)
  • Roads & Infrastructure Maintenance (Roads, Parks, Infrastructure, and Fleet & Inventory Management)
  • Local Port of Portland Bay operations
  • Airport operations
  • Environmental & Facilities (Waste transfer stations)
  • Cleaning Services

Additionally, as a member of the Executive Leadership team you will be expected to proactively contribute to the achievement of Council's vision, values, and corporate goals;

  • Provide leadership in accordance with organisations values framework
  • Drive change and best practice to deliver high quality strategies and practices in service delivery, project and asset management
  • Enhance and maintain strong stakeholder and community engagement
  • Actively participate in scheduled Council briefings, Council meetings, public presentations including community listening posts and Q&A forums
  • Drive the delivery of capital works programs with a focus on a culture of safety
  • Ensure continual focus on strategy and customer focus
