Council has an exciting opportunity for a General Hand to join our Water and Wastewater team in Armidale.
We want individuals who have the drive and interest to work as part of a team. We can provide the training and
tools for the right people. This is a great role to get a foot in the door at Council, ideal if you are a school leaver
or someone looking for their next challenge. As a part of your new role, we will support you in completing a
Certificate III in Water Industry Operations, as well as other training opportunities including a variety of plant.
This position works with a great crew, making sure we have essential water and waste water services across the
region. No two days are the same - you get the chance to not only carry out general labouring work (getting
your hands dirty) but also get to work on some plant including diggers, excavators, back hoes, skid steer loaders as well as a jet vac (a huge, big vacuum).
As a bonus, working at Council you also get the benefit of a 9 day fortnight, flexible working provisions and the
opportunity for overtime.
About you
