The role

We are seeking a Graphic Design Officer to join our Communication, Engagement and Marketing team. In this role you will be designing engaging graphics and digital content for our websites, digital platforms, and communications that support our commitment to community engagement and accessibility standards. Your designs will ensure our visual content is consistent across our digital platforms and reinforces Council's brand identity. 

In this role, you'll be a key player in our creative team, taking ownership of design projects from concept to completion. You’ll have a diverse portfolio of campaigns to work on, from marketing projects to internal presentations and technical documentation. Your ability to collaborate with various departments and understand their needs will be crucial in producing designs that align with our organizational goals and resonates with diverse audiences. What you'll bring

  • Degree level qualifications in digital and graphic design.
  • A comprehensive portfolio of graphic and digital designs, highlighting your ability to create engaging and effective visual content.
  • Experience in the use of digital platforms, including social media, CMS, intranet and Electronic Direct Mail.
  • Knowledge of accessibility and engagement standards (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines WCAG 2.0 and International Association for Public Participation IAP2).
  • Proficiency in design software Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with various teams to bring ideas to life.

Salary: Starting salary $83,460 plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience).

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
