The Role
Our new Economy & Experience unit leverages the unique strengths of the Greater Bendigo economy and is responsible for identifying and facilitating strategic development and investment opportunities. By delivering place-based prosperity initiatives and driving economic growth, this unit plays a leading role in ensuring Greater Bendigo is a great place to live, work, visit and invest.
Reporting to the Director Strategy & Growth, you will lead the unit in the identification, facilitation, promotion and delivery of strategic investment opportunities for the local and regional economy, and lead the design and implementation of key local and regional initiatives to increase industry capacity, recognition and commercial outcomes.

About You
To be successful in this demanding role, you will be a positive leader with the ability to mentor and support staff to create a cohesive, multi-skilled and high performing team. You will be able to establish and manage strategic, productive relationships, and have extensive experience in leading and delivering projects, programs and operations to achieve strong economic outcomes. You will also have high level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, strong financial management experience and have a passion to make Bendigo a great place to live, work, visit and invest.
Qualifications in tourism, business management, commerce or economics are required, as well as a satisfactory Police Records Check and employee Working with Children Check.
