Mechanic Diesel Fitter (Casual)

Information on the Position:

Flinders Shire Council is seeking candidates for the role of a Casual Mechanic / Diesel Fitter.
Mechanic / Diesel Fitters will be responsible for providing both proactive and reactive maintenance across

Council’s light and heavy plant/fleet.

As a representative of Council, demonstrated professionalism and a commitment to a high level of service and continuous improvement in the best interest of Council and the Community are essential.

The position is classified as a Level C10 – C7 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C) Award – State 2017.

The hourly rate for this position is $51.00 - $55.00 per hour and will be based on experience and qualifications. This rate is inclusive of both Casual Loading and Council’s Over Award Allowances.

This role is based at Council’s Works Depot in Hughenden. While the workshop generally operates between 6.00am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, flexibility to travel throughout the Shire and to operate outside of standard business hours may be required in order to repair and maintain Council’s plant and fleet assets located at project sites.

Worker’s accommodation will be provided at nil cost.
