Senior Building Surveyor - Combustible Cladding Lead

  • Salary Range Band 8 $125,104 - $140,199 pro rata plus 11.5% Super
  • 2 year part time opportunity – 4 days per week
  • Located at St Kilda Town Hall, flexible working arrangements possible

About the Role

The Building Solutions team at City of Port Phillip are looking for an enthusiastic and team focused Building Surveyor who will lead Council processes in combustible cladding auditing, enforcement, assessment and resolution.

Duties:

  • Carry out the auditing, enforcement, assessment and resolution of buildings constructed with combustible cladding.
  • Consultation and engagement with key external and internal stakeholders 
  • Support the Municipal Building Surveyor in all statutory, regulatory, and administrative functions
  • Provide expert advice and assistance on all matters to Council, both internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as delegate of the Municipal Building Surveyor as defined in Instrument of Delegations under the Building Act 1993 and Building Regulations 2018 

Skills and Experience 

  • Tertiary qualification in Building Surveying  
  • Registered Building Practitioner in the category of Building Surveyor – Unlimited
  • At least 10 years experience at local government in a senior building surveying/enforcement role with substantial experience dealing with combustible cladding auditing, enforcement, assessment and resolution.
