The Surf Coast Shire Council oversees the picturesque region of Surf Coast Shire in Victoria, Australia. Your New Career

This role sits within the Road Strategy team within Council’s Assets and Engineering Department.

The role is focused on the expansion and upgrade of Council’s asset base particularly, but not limited to, roads and pathways. The role is tasked with managing infrastructure upgrades identified within Council’s Development Contribution Plans, assessing requests for road and pathway upgrades, managing delivery of road and pathway assets through Special Charge Schemes.

Key Selection Criteria

Mandatory Qualifications, Experience and Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Management & technical skills and knowledge developed through a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Fully registered and practicing Engineer with relevant organisation or be eligible and willing to become a Registered Professional Engineer in accordance with the Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019within 6 months of successful appointment.
  • Experience in planning and developing work programs, including monitoring, reviewing and reporting to management.
  • Experience in delivering special charge scheme or community focused and funded projects.
  • Highly developed analytical and investigative skills.
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence.
  • Qualification Check.
  • A current Working with Children Check.
  • You have the permanent right to live and work in Australia.
  • Police check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
    A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in Local Government.
