About the role

This position is a temporary full time role in the Water and Sewer team with the primary purpose of managing the investigation, design and implementation of water and sewerage infrastructure projects. The position is based at the Moruya Administration Office.

Your main duties will include:

  • Provide engineering support for the Southern Storage Water Supply Project.
  • Contribute to the development of water and sewerage infrastructure strategies.
  • Manage the investigation, design and delivery of water and sewerage infrastructure projects.
  • Manage the performance of Consultants to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of strategy options reports, investigation reports, designs and associated documents.
  • Manage the performance of Contractors and Subcontractors.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and expenditure.
  • Engage the community as required.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $105.190.52 to $130,679.83 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $91,150.99 to $113,238.30 base salary
  • $3,190.28 to $3,963.34 Civil Liability Allowance
  • $10,849.25 to $13,478.19 superannuation (at 11.5%)

A fully maintained Council leaseback vehicle (including full private usage) is also available with this position!

Appointment to this position is subject to the following:

  • A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.
  • Medical clearance to verify that you are safely able to undertake the duties of the position.

About you

You will be an experienced engineering professional, preferably with a focus in water and/or sewer systems. As a strong communicator, it is essential you have the ability to use effective decision making and problem-solving techniques and processes. Your application should further demonstrate the following:

  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent (AQF Level 8).
  • Well-developed organisational, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven word processing, spreadsheet and database skills.
  • Knowledge of budgetary and financial preparation, monitoring and control.
