POSITION PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE
To maintain a safe, clean and hygienic environment for customers and staff at the centre.
RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Position Title Aquatic Supervisor
Reports to: Position Number

Key Internal Relationships: LTS Instructors, Aqua Aerobics Instructors
Key External Relationships: Centre Customers and Group Bookings
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake diligent lifeguarding to the standards of Guideline for Safe Pool
Operation.
Undertake the role of Warden in an emergency evacuation.
Undertake cleaning and housekeeping to ensure hygienic and inviting
conditions during team rotations.
Administer the fees and charges as resolved by the Council, monitor bands
indicating payment, taking payment as required to class roles during team
rotation.
Maintain work records including hourly visitation, pool tests, corrective
measures, plant room checks, and as required financial records, membership
records during team rotation.
Contribute to help Council deliver its sustainability goals.
Identify hazards, assess the risk and rectify or report hazard.

To report all WHS issues, incidents or injuries to the Centre Team Leader.

Workplace Health & Safety
Ensure compliance with WHS obligations and responsibilities as outlined in Councils
policies and procedures and under the relevant WHS legislation. These include but
are not limited to identifying potentially unsafe situations or work practices and
notifying your Supervisor or Manager (or the Health, Safety Manager/Area Safety
Representative); never performing a task that you believe is dangerous or for which
you do not have the experience, or have not received appropriate instructions and
training or where the correct equipment to carry out the task safely is not available;
always work in a safe manner and in accordance with safety instructions, where
applicable; use the work equipment supplied for the job, in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions), and any personal protective equipment, which the
Council deems necessary and has provided; be safety aware and report any actions
to your line manager which will assist the Council to meet its legal workplace health
and safety obligations.
You have the right to cease or direct cessation of unsafe work. In addition you are
required at all times to comply with Councils Asbestos Management Plan and Policy.

An ability to provide information to customers resolve problems that occur in
the centre.

AUTHORITY
Supervision of the pools and safety to the general public whilst on shift.
SKILL, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES
ESSENTIAL
Pool Lifeguard License
Senior First Aid Certificate
Working with Children Check
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in the supervision and operation of public swimming
pools
DESIRABLE
Willingness to undertake training and multi skill and assist in other areas if
required.
