Your Contribution

Building a Better Buloke: As the Senior Engineer Transport and Drainage you will ensure the planning and management of Council’s transport and drainage infrastructure, supporting long-term financial sustainability and strategic goals. Your efforts will create safe, efficient, and sustainable transport and drainage systems, directly benefiting the community.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Lead and support the Transport and Drainage Asset Team
- Develop, implement and review Council’s Transport Asset Management Plan and Drainage Asset Management Plan
- Plan and deliver transport and drainage capital works program including funding applications
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance regional asset standards and emergency resilience
- Develop, monitor and report on Council’s transport and drainage engineering budget
- Investigate and resolve transport and drainage infrastructure concerns
- In consultation with the Road Services, develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs across Council’s transport and drainage infrastructure assets

- Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in civil engineering and extensive experience in engineering, project management or asset management
- Extensive experience in infrastructure planning, design, and delivery with knowledge of relevant legislation
- Construction Induction Card
- Demonstrated leadership skills 
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders in support of Council’s strategic direction
- Financial management skills for managing budgets and contributing to long-term financial planning and forecasting
- Effective contract management skills, including the ability to develop specifications, prepare tender documents, contracts and ensure proactive contractor management.
