Reporting to the Senior Governance Officer, this position partners with and supports business units to deliver good governance. The role’s responsibilities include oversight of City of Ballarat’s governance, Council and Committee meeting agendas and minutes, policy and procedure framework, and supporting the integrity function within City of Ballarat. The position works in a dynamic and varied environment with a collaborative and fun team, as we support good governanceacross the City of Ballarat.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative individual with well-developed expertise in governance and policy development. You have experience interpreting and applying legislation and policy requirements to provide advice, and are known to support and develop the skills of others around you. You are well-known for your ability to communicate, especially through your writing skills, and partner with stakeholders to gain cooperation and achieve outcomes. You are comfortable managing competing priorities with a positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement and good governance.
Completion of a degree or diploma course in governance/policy/law or relevant field with extensive relevant experience. This might also be acquired through lesser formal qualifications and substantial relevant experience, or through substantial relevant experience in the field of governance/policy/law or relevant field.
