About the role

The role of Information and Records Compliance Officer provides expert advice and assistance ensuring the legislative, evidentiary and organisational recordkeeping requirements of Central Coast Council (CCC) are met including ensuring appropriate accessibility, protection and preservation of records. The position assists with undertaking recordkeeping compliance assessments of systems and processes.

Key Activities of this role include:

  • Provide support and make recommendations on training, policies, standards and procedures that drive records management best practice within Central Coast Council.
  • Plan, develop and make recommendations for compliance documentation including policy, procedures, risk assessment tools and compliance frameworks to assist CCC meet the compliance obligations of the NSW State Records Act 1998.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of CCC’s business systems, information repositories and architecture in alignment with CCC’s Information Management Framework, legislative requirements and industry best practice.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Graduate Diploma in Records Management and Archives or Diploma in Recordkeeping OR equivalent demonstrated knowledge and experience in records management systems, principles and practices, including analysis, administration and improvement of records and document management systems.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills, including high level of customer service skills to communicate effectively and build relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying the State Records Act 1998, including standards and Retention and Disposal Authorities, as well as any other relevant regulations, policies and procedures within a Local Government environment.
  • Proven experience in an advisory capacity as a records management subject matter expert with proven ability to formulate recommendations and provide specialist advice to enable records and information management compliance and promote industry best practice.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities, strong attention to detail with proven ability to always maintain confidentiality using discretion.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges between $85K and $98K plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • This is a Permanent full time role.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight.
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - 2 days work from home and 3 days on site.
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building.
