About the role

This position is a permanent full time role to manage the day to day operations of the Strategic Planning team and based at the Moruya Administration Office. You will ensure policy and project outputs meet Council’s vision, Management Plan and Delivery Program objective for Strategic Planning. Your main duties will include:

 

  • Lead and motivate staff to deliver quality outcomes with duties and responsibilities carried out as appropriate.
  • Undertake, coordinate and manage the preparation of Local Environment Plans, Development Control Plans and policy projects.
  • Report to Council, Committees and other public forums as required. 
  • Facilitate consultation with stakeholders regarding strategies, plans and policy project tasks.
  • Participate in user matrix groups or other forums to ensure that Council’s strategic goals and directions are accurately presented.

About you

You will be an experienced professional who can contribute strong organisational support and excellent time management skills to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Strategic Planning team. You will be a high achiever and demonstrate the following:

 

  • Appropriate qualification in planning. Alternate relevant qualifications may be acceptable depending upon the range of experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, coordination and implementation of strategic planning or policy planning programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, participate in, and foster a positive team environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal skills with familiarity with relevant computer technology.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $122,261.63 to $134,306.70 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $109,651.69 to $120,454.44 base salary
  • $12,609.94 to $13,852.26 superannuation (at 11.5%)

 

A fully maintained Council leaseback vehicle (including full private usage) is available with this position.


A satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check is required for appointment to this position.
